Jason Aldean: Inside His Inspiration [MUSIC PLAYING] (Image: Jason Aldean sign/banner outside) (Words on Screen: Jason Aldean: Inside his inspiration) (Speaker: Jason Aldean) My musical influences are kind of scattered so far across the board, it's ridiculous. I mean, to me, I just was a fan of music in general. And whether it was country or whether it was blues or R&B or whatever, if it was cool, then I listened to it. I really didn't categorize stuff like that. It was just like, oh, yeah, I like that song. Who sings it? I never said, oh, well, I can't listen to that because it's not country music. (Image: Crowd cheering at a performance. Jason shaking hands with the audience while he is on stage.) One of the shows for me that was most memorable was playing the Macon Coliseum the first time. I went to see my first concert at that venue in my hometown, and that was a place that I just always wanted to play. I remember going and buying tickets to shows there and things like that. And now finally, I was playing it. And it was sold out. To me, that one will really always be one that kind of stands out. That's pretty special. (Image: Different photographs of Jason Aldean. You know, it wasn't until I decided to be myself and record the music that I wanted to record and look the way I wanted to look and do things my way is when it finally started to work. And I think that's probably the best advice I could give to an artist, is just stay true to who you are and what you want to be. Music's meant to experiment with and have fun. From a fan's standpoint, they like seeing that and hearing those songs, especially things that really kind of catch them off guard. Something I enjoy doing, so hopefully it's something that I'll be able to do throughout my career.
